Feeling Thirsty? The world of Coca Cola Store in Disney Springs, Orlando opened this summer with a Coke bottle themed building design made possible by Ronstan Tensile Architecture elements. Coca-Cola commented about the building design, “Modeled after a 1920s Coca-Cola bottling plant, the store brings the past to life in a familiar yet surprising way. An inviting brick exterior gives a nod to the brand’s heritage, and a glass-accented entry pays tribute to the iconic Coca-Cola bottle.” The designers and engineers brought this vision to life using a custom glazing system created with Faour Glass, Baker Barrios, and Facade Concepts, Inc.

Ronstan supplied the twenty-one 1-1/8″ diameter 316 stainless steel cables (1 x 61 construction), required for the custom cable net system with structural glass panels that span 5 feet wide by 10 feet high. These cables maintain the vertical support required to support the glass curtain wall on two sides of the building. The cables are kept in high tension by a jacking system (supplied by Ronstan) below grade to minimise vibration.

Inside the new multi-level store, guests can taste beverages from around the world at the roof top bar, or enjoy the extensive Coca Cola branded retail offerings on the first two floors.
