Ronstan Tensile Architecture was engaged by McCorkell Constructions to supply and install the Feature Wire Balustradea vertical cable barrier system—at the newly redeveloped Melbourne Holocaust Museum. Designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects, this significant cultural project integrates a heritage building within a striking new four-storey structure, conceived as a space for education, remembrance, and community connection.

Located in the museum’s central circulation spine, Ronstan’s stainless steel vertical cable barrier forms part of the architectural language that defines the light-filled internal spaces. The barrier provides fall protection along stairwells and upper levels while maintaining openness and visual transparency—contributing to the sense of calm and reflection envisioned by the design team. Precision-engineered and discreetly detailed, the ACS3 cable system supports the museum’s intent to balance security with minimal visual obstruction, preserving sightlines and enhancing the spatial experience across three levels of galleries, learning spaces, memorial zones, and breakout areas.

The Melbourne Holocaust Museum stands as a powerful educational and architectural statement. Ronstan is proud to have contributed to this landmark project through the delivery of a clean, modern vertical cable barrier solution that complements the museum’s mission and materiality.
