As part of a major upgrade, 222 Lonsdale Street in Melbourne recently received a complete refurbishment of its lobby to create a highly aesthetic and welcoming space.  This included the suspension of a series of architectural sculptural lighting blades to the ceiling of the glass roof.

Expert in the suspension of artistic forms, Ronstan was engaged to suspend the completed Perspex lighting elements.  Our scope included the design of cables, dropper rods, connections and suspension elements as well as overall coordination for the blades including their supporting extrusions and inbuilt LED lighting system.

Initially to be fixed permanently in place, Ronstan was able to recommend, manufacture and install a track system with dynamic suspension points to allow the blades to be mechanically moved for maintenance. This realized efficiencies in the support structure, while ensuring a simple and easy mechanism for regular cleaning and maintenance.
